Q: Does
being an IPC have to be a full-time job?
Answer:
No. You have so much flexibility, its incredible. Depending on your
individual circumstances when you start out you may elect to work a few hours
a day or a few days a week. Marketing your business doesnt take a lot of
time. You can just send out letters in the beginning offering the free CD
program, and then let the CDs do most of your selling for you. Youll find
that if you can just get the CD into a prospects hands, youll quickly start
adding clients.
Q: How
do I collect my fees from clients? In other words, what kinds of agreements and
contracts do you use?
Answer:
Copies of the agreements we use are included with your training package. They
are very easy to follow and modify to meet your particular needs. MDC can
collect the payments from your client and then reimburse the IPC their profit,
or the IPC can collect payment and pay the wholesale price to MDC. Payment
forms are typically check, credit card or 30 day terms. For multi-month
promotions we can set-up monthly terms.
Q: Would
the investment be tax-deductible?
Answer:
Probably. We are not tax experts and suggest you consult your own tax
accountant to answer that question.
Q: How
does this program compare against similar businesses? What do you offer that I
cant get from somebody else?
Answer:
First of all, I dont know that there ARE any other businesses similar to
this one. There certainly isnt another nationwide network of promotional and
marketing professionals that offer the wide range of services that we do and
give you a systematic way to find and service clients. Your only other option,
as far as we know, is to develop your own marketing system and incentive and
promotional consulting procedures like we have done. But we offer you a way to
shortcut that process by 10 years and millions of dollars
by becoming an IPC.
Q: Can
you really train someone to become an incentive and promotional expert in just
five days?
Answer:
The training is not geared toward making anyone an expert in five days the
training is designed to get IPCs intimately familiar with the Getaway Incentives
Marketing System and allow them to practice using the system in real
business situations. The system allows us to take anyone with solid business or
sales skills and have them creating good incentives or promotions within two
days. We provide all of the tools to make this happen. Each IPC will need to
participate in ongoing conference calls and continue to practice to become fully
proficient. Expert level should be a reality for most IPCs within 3 to 12
months after training, depending on background, work ethic, and experience.
Q: How
long after I start will it be before I begin making money?
Answer:
Typically, its about two weeks to two months. If you complete your
pre-training grounding, you will already begin building your prospect list
before you ever show up for training and youll be well on your way to
understanding the incentives and promotional process. Some IPCs may already have
their first client lined up before training and only need a couple weeks after
training to get the proposal out and the relationship started. Others need a
couple of months to get their first client on board. Two major factors will also
be how much time you dedicate to the business and your faithfulness to the
Getaway Incentives Marketing System. Working full-time will obviously speed up
the entire process. The Getaway Incentives Marketing System is your blueprint
for success once you leave training.
Q:
Besides the licensing fee, what other start-up costs can I expect?
Answer:
Surprisingly little, actually. Most IPCs run their business either out of
their home or out of an existing office and wont need to spend much on
overhead. You will need a computer, printer, Internet connection, and other
(what we would consider to be) office fundamentals. We recommend you get a
fax machine. Beyond office and software, the only real costs youll have are
marketing related. Depending on what marketing methods you implement, this could
cost anywhere to a few hundred dollars a month
but remember, all of the money
you spend on marketing is an investment that will grow into a huge income. And
after you get your follow-up system in place, marketing costs go down
significantly.
Q: What
about ongoing expenses for literature, CDs, etc.?
Answer:
We are not in the business of nickel and diming our IPCs. We pass all of the
promotional pieces that you will need to use along to you with very minimal
markup. For instance, our Promotional Overview Video CDs and Vacation Inserts, the main marketing piece we use, cost the IPC just $12.00/CD and $10/
10 Inserts. This price to IPCs represents volume discounts, and is far less
expensive than any individual Agent could get them produced for in smaller
quantities.
Q: What
kinds of people are typically becoming IPCs? What are their backgrounds?
Answer:
Most IPCs come from some kind of business or sales background...beyond that,
it varies wildly. We get sales professionals who enjoy the freedom of working
the hours they choose but are dissatisfied with the income ceilings they face.
We get marketing & advertising people who see the potential of our program and
what it can do for businesses. We get mid and senior level managers who are
tired of corporate bureaucracy and loathe to work for years on end for
relatively measly retirement wages. We get entrepreneurs who own businesses or
have owned businesses in the past and who are looking for a more substantial
income. We get professionals such as, CPAs, attorneys, and doctors who are
dissatisfied with the income their years of hard work have produced for them. We
get retired and semi-retired people who are looking for something challenging
and exciting to do with their time. Get the idea? We get all types!
Q: What
are the strengths of this program compared to other business opportunities? What
about relative weaknesses?
Answer:
Strengths are straight forward - flexible time investment, low start - up
investment and high return on your investment. You can make $10,000 to
$30,000+ monthly income with a consistent effort put forth. These numbers
are not pie-in-the-sky best case scenarios but realistic for any qualified IPC
that dedicates the proper amount of time, energy, effort and faithfulness to the
business.
Q: I see
that two people can come to training. Are there any restrictions on who I can
bring?
Answer:
We encourage you to have a partner in this business if possible. The old
saying two heads are better than one is good advice when taking on any new
project. To that end, we have made it possible for you to bring a second person
through training at a minimal charge. There are no restrictions on who you can
partner with If you chose to have a partner, they must complete an IPC
application indicating the plan to partner with you.
Q: What
does MDC Group mean anyway?
Answer:
MDC Group stands for Marketing Development & Consulting Group. Our
system, while used in many employee award programs are most often used by
companies as part of their marketing program.
Q: What are the biggest determining
factors of success or failure among IPCs?
Answer:
Lets start with failure, and that will probably give clues for success. The
twin killers of IPC success are fear and pride. Fear is a quality that few would
admit to, but many would exhibit possibly without even knowing it. Human
nature hates change. It longs for comfort and stability. As you start your
career as an IPC, you will find that you must put yourself in uncomfortable
situations on a regular basistalking to your warm contacts about the business,
answering questions that you may not know the answer to, making a presentation
in front of a networking group, and so forth. These things may not seem too
difficult, but history tells us that some IPCs are more scared than they think
they are. The other killer is pridemeaning that IPCs think they know the best
way to success in the business. This leads to doing things differently than the
system calls for, which almost always leads to sub par results. As a new IPC,
you would be well advised to follow the "You're Going Places With Us!" system to
the letter, and success is sure to follow.
Q: What
should I do with a couple of large companies that I have contacts with prior to
training?
Answer:
Probably nothing. If the companies are large, you will probably be better
served by waiting until your skill level catches up with your enthusiasm. You
may, however, want to discuss the situation with IPC Support to get specific
instructions on how to deal with a particular situation.
Q: Is
MDC Group Inc. a public or private company?
Answer:
We are a privately held company. Currently, we have no plans to take the
company public, although we would consider the possibility if funds were needed
to grow the company beyond what cash flow provided for.
Q: Can I
pay the licensing fee out of the proceeds I receive from my clients
in other
words, will you finance this for me?
Answer:
No. We do not provide any financing under any circumstances. This protects
the integrity of the IPCs as a whole. Some IPCs make payments on the licensing
fee. Others combine cash with
credit card to pay the licensing fee. In addition, we have found a very
strong correlation between somebodys ability to pay the licensing fee available
and somebodys ability to be financially successful. If for whatever reason you
cannot pay the licensing fee, then you are not qualified to proceed.
Q:
As an IPC, do I have any territorial restrictions?
Answer:
No. You are free to operate anywhere you like, and service clients located
anywhere. |
